'The Naval Test' 19 August 1942 [Best Played vs Human, PBEM or H2H] : The Russian Navy during the summer of 1942 was quiet in the Baltic Sea. A plan had been brought into place to try amphibious landings on the shores of Finland to test the effectiveness. The location for the test was near the town of Puha. An understrength Infantry Regiment was given the task of landing and razing Puha and secure the nearby hillsand await until sundown to be taken back to sea. The town was uknowingly fortified by the Finnish forces whom were protecting a heavy artillery battery. The Russians were in for bitter fighting in the dense woods around Puha. *Note* The Russian Player has a hard go of this one. There are only two main places to land, and only one of those can land the armour. Although the Russian may have success landing all the forces at Rigaa Farm, I personally would advise to split the forces and land a battalion of infantry near Traaja Farm. Try to envelope the town of Puha and then attack with full force. There are 40 turns to complete the scenario. The victory conditions are set very high for a major victory. It is achievable if one keeps losses to a minimum. The Finnish player has a few powerful units. The Victory locations are scattered throughout the area, mainly on fortified hilltops. The strategy you adopt is of course up to you, although I would recommend regrouping and defending. Then advance again to secure the hilltops.
