The Air Assault landings of the 82 Airborne at Nijmegen during
Operation Market-Garden. This actually simulates the first couple
of days of the assault. As nothing much happened on the first
day. However on the second day the Germans attacked violently
with everything they could scrape together. The 82nd managed
to hang on until the British XXX Corps showed up but if they
had been delayed much longer the 82nd would have suffered the
same fate as the British 1st Airborne Division at Arnhem, which
was destroyed.
